Carrickmines Croquet & Lawn Tennis Club is an active, family-friendly tennis club offering tennis on 7 synthetic grass, 3 indoor acrylic and up to 8 grass tennis courts at the height of the summer months; the Clubhouse incorporates changing rooms, showers, sauna and gymnasium which is currently being increased in size during the current renovation process.

 

Carrickmines C&LTC caters for all levels of tennis players ranging from the beginner improver to international under the guidance of the Club Tennis Committee, the Director of Tennis Pat Crowe and the Club Coaching Team.

 

Autumn and spring team tennis leagues are popular among social players as are Super Tuesdays, Thursdays and Club Night, members are welcome to sign up and play tennis with other members and a chance to compete for a bottle of wine, and afterwards mingle in the clubhouse for coffee, a drink and a snack.

 

Carrickmines C&LTC is an active member of the Swiss based International Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC) enabling the club to cater for all levels of competitive tennis such as International CTC events. Our men’s and women’s teams compete in Dublin Lawn Tennis Council winter, summer and floodlight leagues ranging from Classes 1 – 7 as well as hosting the County Dublin Open Championships , the closed Club Championships, as well as a series of competitive friendly fixtures with other clubs & universities in Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

 

Every summer the club hosts the Junior and Senior Open Week tournaments that are traditionally amongst the largest and most prestigious in Ireland.

 

Past Wimbledon Champions Joshua Pim and Willoughby Hamilton both played in the club and served on the Club Committee in the early days of tennis.
