First Senior CTC Trophy

CC&LTC Win!

Carrickmines achieved its first CTC Senior win last weekend with a victory in the CTC super seniors tournament held in Carrickmines.  Thank you to all the members of our team who fully engaged with the fixture and represented CC&LTC so well. We hosted clubs from HLTC Leimonias (The Hague) and Donnybrook LTC and the feedback from our visitors was uniformly positive about our excellent facilities and our guests experienced an outstanding Carrickmines welcome from one and all. Our President, on behalf of the club, hosted the teams at a presentation dinner on Saturday evening and spoke about the spirit of the Centenary Tennis Clubs with competitive tennis conducted with friendship and a spirit of fair play.

Thank you to John and his team for their contribution to the successful running of the week-end. Our guests also enjoyed a weekend of grass court tennis and greatly enjoyed the trueness and quality of the courts. Thank you to Simon for his work in preparing the courts so well. Playing lawn tennis is a particular highlight for most of our visiting teams. Fortunately the early morning rain passed through quickly and we were able to play 2 of the 3 matches on the grass courts.

Our juniors have a number of victories particularly at U12 but after many years of trying we are delighted to complete a win at senior level. We do have a UK&Irl friendly victory as part of an invitational team but this is our first senior win. We look forward to trying to defend our victory next year.
